Picture Day was March 14 from 8:30-12:00. Get your smiles ready and if you are new to hConnect or iConnect, this is your student’s opportunity to have an official Olympia School District student id badge. Miss Trish’s email sent earlier today has more details.

Empty Bowls & Local Mics

Come and fill your bowl! Join us for ORLA's 3rd Annual Empty Bowls event March 29th in the Commons. We will gather at 6:00 for homemade soups and listen to the Reds - River, Eros, Dante, and Sage. The event is free to all. Cash donations will be accepted for the Thurston County Food Bank and the ORLA Arts Fund. The Arts Fund will be used to help students create public art installations at ORLA. Come at 5:00 if you would like to buy a ceramic bowl. Children’s activities will be in the gym from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. If you would like to make soup for the event or volunteer, see sign up sheets on the info kiosk in the ORLA lobby or email lmitchell@osd.wednet.edu.

ORLA Garden Tool Drive: March 12-16 -
Horticulture class manages the ORLA garden & is holding a tool drive to gather items & keep the garden clean and healthy. Needed items include TOOLS (such as hoses, hose connectors, gloves, clippers) and spring SEEDS or STARTS (such as flowers, vegetables, & herbs). Please drop off all your donations at Mrs. Erickson's room #118. We appreciate any help you can provide in the hopes of keeping our garden in order.

When Hannah Kahler-Klein mentioned the need for Volunteer hours, she and her husband were happy to finish stuffing two drawers of Parent Folders with Lifetouch Order forms.  Thank you, Miss Trish

Thank you for parking in the parking lot and not in the drop off lane during school as well as for any after school or evening events. Emergency vehicles need access at all hours to our front entrance.

hConnect & iConnect

Thank you for all your help with onsite supervision at ORLA. The difference this last week has been amazing. The entire school community has commented on it from teachers, students, parents, to the office staff. Thank you!

8th Grade Transition Meetings Scheduled! Please let ORLA’s Counselor, Corrine Taiji know if you have any questions about the transition process for your 8th grader.

Olympia High School Welcome Night on April 11 from 6-8 pm

Capital High School Parent & Student Night on March 23rd: Out of district 9th-grade registration 5-6pm; All incoming 9th graders 6-7 pm; Tours with Q & A from 7-8 pm.


The conference scheduler for Montessori P-6th grade is open on Skyward from today until 3/16. Please log in & book your conferences early. If you need to make special arrangements please contact your student’s teacher.  If you don’t know your Skyward login information, please contact the office.

Students in Upper Elementary will be attending the South Sound Green SSGREEN Congress on the 22nd of March out at the Evergreen State College.  Students will report their testing result to schools who also test in their watershed. They will then come up with a plan on how to improve water quality in our area and commit to a service project carrying out the plan.

Ms. Claire’s class shared their endangered animal projects today! What a great Friday exhibition!

Spring has sprung for your PTA! We're planning multiple fun events for the next couple of months.  

The March PTA Meeting on March 15 at 6:30 pm will feature Superintendent Patrick Murphy as he comes to listen to the concerns of our unique school community. Lots of time for questions!

Fresh off the tremendous success of our March Movie Night featuring 'Wonder', your PTA will show the Academy Award Winning movie 'Coco' on April 13.  Come for the free movie and purchase some Mexican-inspired cuisine for dinner.

Our First Annual Silent Auction is only weeks away!  On April 14, we will party at the Abigail Stuart House downtown with dinner, music, and lots of fun bidding.  "Early bird" pricing of $20 per person, including a BBQ buffet dinner, ends on March 31.  (Beginning April 1, tickets will cost $25.)
