The Parent Partnership Program (PPP) works with families who provide homebased instruction to support them in the education of their children. Parents remain the primary teacher in their child's education, but the Parent Partnership Program is here to be supportive with resources, strategies, and classes that are more difficult to provide at home. Parents and students who are interested in participating in the Parent Partnership Program meet with staff to discuss their educational goals. If there is a decision to move forward, students will enroll either full- or part-time to attend classes and to receive services from certificated teachers through individual learning plans.

During the 2008-09 school year, our on-site course offerings change every eleven weeks. Our class schedule for the 08/09 school year will be available May 22. You may view this class schedule by visiting our WINGS site: www.wingsnw.com. Click on, “Olympia Regional Learning Center,” and the “Find a Class” located on the left margin. The fall session starting date is September 8th. We offer courses in many subject areas such as Spanish, music, drama, visual arts, science, writing, math, social studies, PE, reading, and many others.

Space is available to enroll new students for the 08/09 school year. If you would like more information or are interested in enrolling in our program for the 08/09 school year please contact Julie Randich at 596-7730. Appointments with new families who would like to enroll will be set up in early June.

Please ask questions regarding student learning plans, on-site and off-site classes, and in partnering on the design of the learning plan to include a minimum number of hours determined by grade level. For Kindergarten the minimum is 9 hours; for grades 1-3 the minimum is 17 or higher; and for grades 4 - 12 the minimum is 22 or higher.

If you would like to visit our site and sit-in on a class or two, please let us know which day you would like to visit (just so we can make sure we do not have too many visitors on any one day).

We look forward to meeting you!

 Frequently Asked Questions

 Where are you located?
Our new location is 2001 26th Avenue NE, in Olympia. This is the location of the former John Roger's Elementary School.

Do you have to live within Olympia School District boundaries to enroll in this program?
We are accepting students from out of district. Please call or visit your resident district's administration office and ask for an Inter-district Transfer Agreement form. The resident district must first release your child, through the use of this form, before we may enroll your child in the Olympia School District.

Does my child have to be enrolled as a full-time student?
Students may participate on a full- or part-time basis. Part-time students need to submit a Declaration of Intent for Home-Based Instruction form if they have not done so already.

Can my child be enrolled in the Parent Partnership Program while attending another public school?
At this time we are not accepting students for dual enrollment with another public school.

Does my child have to enroll for all four days that classes are held?
You may sign-up for as many classes that fit your family's schedule.

Am I required to stay on-site while my child attends classes?
Parents with children under 12 years of age are required to stay on site unless an arrangement has been made with another parent for supervision. Students who are 12 and older may be on site without their parents as long as they conduct themselves appropriately and do not violate any Learning Academy or school district policies. Students are expected to remain on campus at all times.

How much does it cost to enroll?
There is no tuition to participate in the Parent Partnership Program. Students are enrolled either full- or part-time and it is their enrollment that generates state funding for our program. Certain classes may have a class fee.

When are classes offered?
Classes are scheduled on Mondays - grades 6th - 12th, Tuesdays grades K - 5th, Wednesdays grades K- 12th, and Thursdays grades 3rd - 8th between 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
