Please join us for a movie afternoon with proceeds supporting the MSA program and 7th and 8th grade science classes at ORLA!
Kubo movie
Sunday, June 4, doors open at Noon for the 1:00 p.m. Kubo and the Two Strings at the Olympia Film Society located in the beautiful Capital Theater 206 5th Ave SE in downtown Olympia.

Tickets available at the door.
Adult and teen non-members $12, members and

kids under 12 $9, and babies and toddlers are free.


Funds Raised will be for equipment and supplies for art integration into science, supplies for students to create complex science projects and demonstrations at school, plants and supplies for the fruit tree guild and prairie restoration the kids are designing.


Field trips for science investigations, social studies, and direct action for environmental and social challenges such as:

  • Restoration at Glacial Heritage Preserve of critically endangered prairie habitat

  • Plant and macroinvertebrate investigations to monitor ecosystem health and changes, Investigations to improve environmental and social health

  • Large art installations in school common areas and classroom where math and science is used in the creation of the art

  • Learning about history and current events by go to the places events took place/hearing from people who lived through the events/or experiencing the history through museums (examples: The Wing Luke Museum, Northwest African American History Museum, Squaxin Island Tribe Community Library and Museum, The Burke Museum, WA State History Museum, The Tacoma Art Museum, etc.)

  • Student lead and designed instruction to share their learning or take direct action on an issue, K-12 throughout our building
