Letter from our Administrator

March 23, 2020

Dear Families,

I hope this letter finds you well. We know that this past week has been an incredibly trying time for everyone. We wanted to let you know that our teachers and school staff have been missing students tremendously.

It is also important for you to know that a plan was put in place last week for teachers and principals to wait to communicate with families in order to provide more consistent and direct communication from the central office during these uncertain times. We realize that there has been some frustration with the lack of communication, but please know that teachers were following expectations so that all families were hearing a common message. Teachers will be reaching out to families tomorrow afternoon via Skyward messaging and are very excited to connect with their students.

Here are two important reminders:

A link to our district webpage for a list of supplemental learning resources: https://osd.wednet.edu/news/district_news/supplemental_learning_resources

A few points to know:

  • These are optional activities meant to serve as a review
  • These activities are not required and will not be reviewed or graded
  • These activities will not be reflected on report cards
  • More activities will be added weekly
  • Please complete the “Technology Request Form” if your student is in need of a Chromebook (found at the bottom of the above link).

As a reminder, sack lunches are available Monday - Friday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at each of our elementary schools along with some additional locations.  Lunch and breakfast is provided. Please refer to the link below for specific distribution sites:

Thank you for continuing to follow the guidelines recommended by the Health Department and the Governor.  We are here for all families during this time and are eager to return to school.

We hope to see everyone soon,

Sincerely,

Celeste Waltermeyer
